Broomball

Sorry, but Flash Player is required for viewing video content on this web site.

Closely resembling ice-hockey, but with a unique flair and a few notable differences, Broomball is a fast-paced game in which teams race end to end on a full sized hockey rink trying to outscore one another. Broomball was developed in Canada in the early 1900’s. Deriving its name from the traditional kitchen corn brooms that were used as sticks at the turn of the 20th century. Broomball has developed a great deal over the years. Nowadays broomball sticks resemble a paddle more than a broom with the paddle being constructed of rubber or plastic in a cup-like shape to assist with ball handling.
